Perfectly acceptable

I haven’t written a great deal this week, as I am dealing with some mental blocks and an impending visit from some family members. But I wanted to sit down in the coolness of this early spring morning as the sun starts to peek through my eastern windows and write a bit of wisdom I have been reminded of these past few days.

This is going to be a bit of a ramble as opposed to my other blog posts, since my mind is sorting things out.

Here goes….some perfectly acceptable bits of wisdom:

No.” It’s a perfectly acceptable answer when one cannot or will not do something requested of them. It is also a full sentence.

“The door can swing both ways” is also a perfectly acceptable answer, especially if one feels they are always the one to reach out. You have permission to use that saying if others aren’t respecting you or expecting you to do all of the reaching out.

Also, life is not a competition or even a race. There is no grand prize at the end for the one who gets there the fastest or with the most toys. However you want to live your life, whatever milestones you choose or do not choose to gain is perfectly acceptable. In fact, if you are an adult living your own life, no one has the right to dictate how you do that, unless it impedes on the lives of others in a way that is harmful to them.

Setting boundaries to protect yourself is always perfectly acceptable as well, and there is no wrong time or place to learn how to do that.

Family isn’t always about blood. It is perfectly acceptable to have a family made of people you have chosen in addition to (or in some cases in place of) the family you were born into.

And that’s all I have for today. No witty inspiration. No drawn out, overly elaborate words that express the depths of my soul. And you known what, that is perfectly acceptable as well.

You’ve got this.

Hope you all stay magical and continue to write your own stories. Despite the crazy that is life right now, I know I will too.

  1. Your words of wisdom are spot on and if someone deems them unfit for their lifestyle, it is perfectly acceptable to show them the door πŸ™‚ Hope you have a wonderful time with your family πŸ’žπŸ’žπŸ’ž
