Sample from my #NaNoWriMo

So some of you are aware that I am participating in National Novel Writing Month again this year. I am working on an urban fantasy story currently called The Magician, though that name is just a placeholder at the moment. I can’t come up with a better name yet. (edit here in June 2023 – The Magician is the title officially).

The setting is a modern day world with a twist – some have magic. It’s been fun telling this story.

I had posted the first chapter of the story here until 30 June 2023. In July, I moved it to a NEW blog post, which can be found here (link coming soon!). Future chapters of the story can be found on my The Magician page.

  1. If that’s a rough draft…I really can’t WAIT to see the polished piece! Looking forward to hearing what happens with Ignace! πŸ’•πŸ’•πŸ’•

  2. Wow! This is riveting! I really like the name Ignace and I love it that he’s vulnerable. (We usually see magicians as all bravado and conceit. As well as deceptive beyond their magic and tricks.)
The tone of suspense and looming danger happens very early on, and I like that. Lorenzo gives that element of evil and cruelty that is reminiscent of President Snow from The Hunger Games series.
Rough draft, huh? Lol! Keep on writing, Kelley!

    1. Okay – I polished it a bit in November before posting it – but only a little.

Thanks – I hope I can keep up the elements you love so much. Working on this still. Most is done, but there is polishing and adding of bits to it.
