Creativity

I have always been creative, especially with my words.

I paint pictures using simple letters strung together. I have generated full worlds but just writing descriptions. I have evoked emotions just by typing silly little characters.

But there are days that I just don’t feel very creative. There have been events within this past year that have made it difficult for me to put hope together. People I thought would always be in my corner have instead My heart and trust in certain people have both been broken. I have closed my circle around me as a result, regarding those who want to be a part of my world with a bit of distrust.

But still, the words flow. I do still want to create. I want to be able to imagine. I want to let the constant stream of letters that I have within me flow out and share them with the world. But I also want to build walls because the bridges I thought had been built have been blown to smithereens almost without warning. It’s how I deal with things…. I take a step back and protect myself while reassessing where and what I need to do.

And that’s kind of how life goes when things happen. It’s what happens when we’re making other plans. We dream, but our wings get clipped. We imagine and get told we’re fools for doing so. We reach for the sky and fall off of cliffs. But then we get up. We try again. We find ways to continue the journey. We make different magic.

And that’s what I am going to do. I will continue to write. I will continue to create. I will continue to find new bridges to new places since the others have been broken. And perhaps new bridges to the old places will emerge in the future.

I will continue the creativity, even if it looks a little different. Don’t worry. It’s still here, just as the hope and light, love and joy, peace and magic and everything else that makes me, well, me, resides. It’s just changed a bit, just as the trajectory of the story I am writing of my life had changed slightly.
