Love unconditionally

It has always amazed me that the English language only has one word for love, even though there are different degrees of love, so to speak. I love my family. I love my one true love. I love chocolate. I love to write.

Yet other languages have many words for love, including Greek. There is erotic love. There is brotherly love. There is a familiar love. And then there is unconditional love, that love that knows no bounds or limits.

it’s that kind of love that some strive to show as much as possible. It’s that kind of love that exudes through messages that everyone is welcome, no matter what. It’s that kind of love that has no conditions attached to it. No one who practices that kind of love says “I will love you if…..” or “I won’t love you when….” That love is the love that is mentioned in John 3:16, yet that love is not given out by some of those who profess that verse.

But unconditional love is tough. It’s bridging the gap between the hurt and the broken. It’s getting deep down into the trenches and lifting people out of their shame without making them feel as though they have to become something else or they aren’t good enough. It’s learning to let go of our own struggles and worries and finding those little pieces of heaven here on Earth that show us that there is something more, something magical out there. It’s writing our stories on terms that are magical rather than on our own terms. It’s finding peace and love, hope and joy in the moments that test us. It’s helping others to do the same, even when it tests our limits and makes us uncomfortable to do so.

But that love, it is here. It is in this moment, just as it has been in every moment. It’s a transcendent, unconditional love that endures all and tests all as it tempers all. It surrounds us even when we can’t see it, can’t find it, can’t feel it. And it remains there, given long ago by the source of all love and light and magic to all of those willing to try to reach for it.

May we be unconditional love here on Earth.

Stay magical, friends.

  1. I love this reminder that love makes the world go ’round. Unconditional love is something that many struggle to accept, yet is the biggest gift of all. 💞

  2. In my teenage days, my Mother and I watched the movie Love Story. One line was said, Love means you never have to say I’m sorry. To which my Mom totally disagree with. As I grew up, I learned that she was right, Love means mean different styles and stages, as we lean to love one another. And many

You will say I am sorry, for this goes with learning unconditional love.

Our true love is with and leaned from our Almighty Father..and through the Grace of his own son.
